For over 60 years Howarth has been one of the leading European makers of oboes. Working closely with leading oboists to reflect the changing tonal requirements and styles, the Howarth company has a policy of continual development and improvement of the oboe.
The S20C (intermediate level oboe) offers the exceptional quality of the professional models with simplified keywork and lightweight design, making it ideal for younger players. The S50C is the newest addition to the Howarth family of oboes and is designed for the aspiring professional. This model has the full conservatory mechanism at an affordable price. The Howarth XL is their prestige model incorporating all of the latest developments in bore and acoustical design. This oboe is played by soloists and orchestral players around the world, including Gordon Hunt, Richard Woodhams, Roy Carter, Martin Schuring, Emily Pailthorpe, and many more.
